National Eye Donation Fortnight 2022

People are used to donating many other parts of the body for their own use in order to do much better activities. Everyone should be able to do their job with possible ideas to improve their lives and achieve their goals for a better future.

The gift of the eyes makes people who do not have eyes to reflect the beautiful nature. It is very important that people have the eye to see the environment and the environment around them.

People should focus on changing the world by giving their precious eyes so they can see beauty and nature. There are thousands of people in India who do not have the eyes to see the world. You must have the eyes of someone who has the right to look at them for their bright future.

It is important to first check the eyes of the person in whom the non-eye patient takes their eyes for their own use, which is best for both people with eye transplant problems.

Eyes are very necessary to work every type of home as well as business. The eyes allow people to understand what is happening in the world. This allows people to see and understand what is going on around them. Therefore, it is very important that everyone is attentive to the environment.

The goal of the national eye donation fortnight

  • Encourage people to share their eyes after death.
  • Educate people that eye donation does no harm after death.
  • Spreading knowledge about the need for an eye transplant.

National eye donation fortnight theme

Many people celebrate the national eye donation to encourage them.  To give their precious eyes so they can see the natural environment. It is good to have a better eye to see the environment and everything clearly to ensure the safety of any harmful thing.

Eyes are important to work and move anywhere in the world. Without the eyes, a person cannot see anything she calls a blind person. As a result, the government has identified many of the following themes to encourage and motivate people to look to the needy:

  • The 2013 theme was “motivation for eye donation”.
  • The theme of the year 2014 was “The gift of the eyes – a gift to see”.
  • The 2015 theme was “Mission to Vision”.
  • The theme for 2017 was “The joy of giving – Donate eyes”.

Without eyes makes the person dependent on others to do his job. The eye is, therefore, a very important part of the body and it should be treated properly by eating properly and relaxing the body most of the time. People today are used to going beyond their limits and sleeping fewer hours.

You must sleep at least 7 hours a day to keep your body fit and work according to the demands of the job. Everyone should be able to sleep better to completely relax their eyes.

Eye Donation Day 2022

There are more than 20,000 new cases of blindness in one year due to eye injuries. Vitamin A deficiency, infections, malnutrition, and many other problems. The eyes of humans can only be restored with the help of a corneal transplant.

The government has launched many campaigns to increase eye donation and give every citizen the knowledge and information they need to prevent and heal their eyes. It is also important to give each person the knowledge of the Camps of the Eye donation.

The government needs to publish prevention and eye treatment methods in news channels and on the Internet to raise awareness of vision problems and their treatment.

One must make sure that they keep their eyes safe by checking their eyes with the doctors for proper treatment in case of a problem. You must keep an eye on the right amount of vitamin A to keep your eyes safe and see the real world.

It is very important that each person keep their eyes clean and secure. So that they can focus on each activity and acquire specific knowledge.

Let us take a look at some of these myths:

#1 Myth: You cannot donate eyes due to history of eye disease

Reality: If someone has experienced eye diseases like glaucoma or cataract, but has been treated or operated upon them successfully, they can pledge and donate their eyes.

#2 Myth: Aged people cannot donate eyes

Reality: The lower age limit to donate eyes is one year, and above that anyone can donate eyes. Age is not a restriction for eye donation.

#3 Myth: Facial disfigurement will occur

Reality: It is a misconception that those who donate eyes will suffer facial disfigurement with holes in the place of eye sockets. Though the eyes are removed completely, it will not cause any cosmetic disfigurement.

#4 Myth: One can donate eyes any time after death.

Reality: Eyes can only be donated within 6 hours of death. It has to be ensured that the body of the deceased should be kept in a cold environment and the local eye bank should be contacted immediately. However, patients with HIV, rabies, septicemia, etc cannot donate their eyes even after death.

#5 Myth: You can’t donate eyes after death, if not pledged

Reality: If someone hasn’t pledged their eyes before their death, it doesn’t mean that their eyes cannot be donated. The family members can volunteer for the eyes of the deceased to be donated.

Why eye donation is important

In conclusion, it has to be noted that blindness is a widespread concern across the world today and WHO points out that after cataracts and glaucoma, blindness is mostly caused by corneal impairments. However, most of these impairments are curable, especially through eye donation. Like any other organ, the cornea of the eye can also be donated after death which will render vision to the visually impaired. While all organs of the body have their own significance, the eyes are unique as they enable us to enjoy the aesthetics of the world. Owing to different visual impairments, many people lose their vision and it is precisely through eye donation that we can impart the gift of vision to them.

Age or illnesses like diabetes or hypertension, heart disease, and kidney disease do not prevent eye donations. The corneas of a person are unaffected even if they have undergone eye surgeries in the past and will be useful when transplanted in others.

Eyes donated can be used to restore vision in people with corneal blindness and the front, clear and transparent tissue of the eye called the cornea does this. The other portions of the eye are also used for research and training purposes to develop cures for some of the common eye diseases. From each pair of donated eyes, two blind people will get vision and light into their life, thus making it one of the noblest acts in humankind. Hence, on this National Eye Donation Fortnight, let us pledge to bestow the gift of sight and give a chance to the visually impaired people to experience the delights of our beautiful world.
